Claire Mallon BSc (Hons) MCOptom

Claire graduated as an Optometrist from Manchester in 1993 and has extensive experience within the independent, multiple, and hospital sectors. She has been a pre-reg student supervisor and a practitioner manager with experience in all aspects of community optometry, including local paediatric and children’s vision initiatives and regional diabetic retinopathy screening services.

Since January 2013, in her role as Optometrist Tutor Practitioner at Eyecare, Claire has been responsible for the planning, creation and delivery of educational materials including distance learning articles, Peer Review case studies, lectures and clinical skills workshops on a wide variety of topics.

She continues to practise as a Clinical Optometrist in Edinburgh and is currently studying for her Independent Prescribing qualification.
