Ocular allergy is a common occurrence in practice, often giving patients significant symptoms especially in the summer months. This presentation will outline the basics behind ocular hypersensitivity and the pathogenesis of allergy. It will consider the clinical signs and symptoms of ocular allergy to enable effective identification and differentiation from other ocular surface diseases. Currently, available treatment options and the potential challenges for contact lens patients will also be considered enabling clinicians to offer the most appropriate recommendations and advice to their patients.
