The purpose of this article is to consider some of the pragmatic advice about light that eye care practitioners can give to patients to address common concerns about the impact of light on vision. These concerns are organised into the problem areas of not enough light (‘The Good’), too much light (‘The Bad’), and the wrong sort of light (‘The Ugly’).
